  1. Gourmet Travellers
  2.
  3. I adore Mediterranean culture and cuisine, who doesn't?!
  4. Dreams of scooting around in a gorgeous teal green Vespa to pick up the best eats from markets, butchers or bakeries often frequent my slumber.
  5.
  6. I'm not the only one to dream of these, Nanette Johnson a.k.a The Gourmet Worrier has gone a step further and is now living her dream, and the generous soul that she is, she is now offering to share these dreams with others.
  7.
  8. All new Gourmet Travellers offers tailor made, gastronomic travel packages to immerse you in Mediterranean culture. Tours include "twilight wine tasting events, hands on pasta and pastry workshops, market tours and excursions to visit artisan food producers, local tastings as well as personalised cultural tours with an emphasis on local knowledge, luxury and style."
  9.
  10. The first tour kicks off in June 2011 with a 10 day Mediterranean Feast of the Mythic Islands of Malta & Sicily. Visit http://gourmet-travellers.com for more details on how to "Live, Eat, Dream" your way through the Mediterranean with Nanette.
  11.
  12. Disclaimer: Nanette Johnson founder of Gourmet Travellers is a dear friend of mine.

  1. Mariano’s Chorizo Español
  2.
  3. Mariano Vivas and family moved from Barcelona to Christchurch in 2006, fortunately for us this move created a deep yearning for the authentic flavours of his homeland and better yet led him to start producing his own chorizo here in Canterbury, New Zealand.
  4.
  5. Mariano's chorizo is quite simply perfecto! Tasty, spicy and nothing like the hard dry brown excuse for chorizo you get at a supermarket. Naturally he uses only quality ingredients, beginning with local free-range Canterbury pork from Murrellen and the finest blend of Spanish paprika, some salt and garlic - and that's it. No gluten - No nitrates - No preservatives.
  6.
  7. You can see, taste and feel the difference in texture.
  8. I buy my Chorizo straight from Mariano himself at the Christchurch Farmers market in Deans Bush on Saturdays or RareFare.
